Our History
Buzzard's Pizza was opened by my mother about 20 years ago in Lyndon just 30 minutes South of Topeka on 75 Hwy. A few years later, she opened her 2nd store in Pomona. Both quickly became local favorites with even out of town guests traveling for what would be 3 times voted the Best Pizza in North East Kansas. In 2006, I decided to jump in head first to the family business by opening a 3rd location in Holton, just 30 minutes North of Topeka on 75 Hwy. And then in 2009 again decided to expand and this time a little closer to the big city. Buzzard's Hunters Ridge found a great home in North Topeka right off 75 Hwy and NW 46th St. In just 2 short years, we are honored to be chosen among the Best Pizza by Best of Topeka 2010 and Kansas Best 150 in 2011. I am so proud to be a part of such a supportive local business community. I live 
here and my children attend school in USD 345; we love how the small town feel has welcomed us.
Buzzard's currently is open in Lyndon, Pomona, Topeka, Wellsville, and Osage City.
And for those of you who need to ask "WHY BUZZARD'S" for your name???
Well I have always heard the story like this...
We were all sitting around trying to pick a name for the shop and couldn't agree. So finally we just decided to listen to the television show and the next words would become the name...apparently the show was an older couple and the wife got disgusted and called her husband an OLD BUZZARD. Buzzard's just stuck and 20 years ago when everyone still used the phone book to fine a phone number it came before any competitors names alphabetically. Now, one of the favorite menu items happens to be the ROADKILL pizza, covered with shredded bbq brisket, grilled strips of chicken breast, topped with tons of cheese and crispy bacon crumbles.
